Hi. Please, I going on a trip & I am looking for a good backpack/diaper bag which can fit essentials & a little extra (mommy's cell phone, wallet, etc). Any suggestions? I've heard Baby Sherpa is good? Any other brands? Thanks in advance.

I always like using children's backpacks, especially since then I could have one for each of my kids that they liked or picked out. Especially with my daughter-- that way she wouldn't complain that it wasn't cute. Also, if you get a backpack and don't beat it up, oyu can use it when they are kindergarten, first grade, while they still don't need something big. My son knows how to live off the land. He hiked the Appalacian Trail & didn't want to come back but he had to go back to school.
BQ:( I asked this backwards but I was trying to get a WHAT as the first word) Do you think kids should be taught how to live with out commercial products...live off the land?
In the county I live in when the kids are in 7th grade they go a way for a week or so & they live in a camp ground place. My one son hated it & the other son loved it.

We had various initiatives when we were younger like the international award that taught us how to not just live off the land but navigate, survive, ration, hike and set up shelter. We had to cover 70km of Sri Lankan mountainous terrain in 3 days with a 20kg backpack containing a tent and survival gear. It was a great experience but a lot of people didn't make it to the end. Most schools provide these kind of programmes but it is obviously very expensive for parents to fund them. If parents can't afford to send their children on these kinds of trips then they have to do it themselves, simple as.
