I've had generic, single color backpacks from Walmart or Target since second grade. So does anybody know websites or stores that sell backpacks/messenger bags that have cute patterns, are original, and/or that are affordable? I really want to stand out with my backpack this year.... So thanks for your help!
Thanks Everyone!!

Rent prices near Camp Pendleton CA?
Q. We are moving to this area in July due to military, and can't get base housing in this short time. We are on a tight budget and need to know of Oceanside, Fallbrook, San Clemente or surrounding areas, where is the least expensive without being ghetto? What are the average rents for those of you who have lived or live in these areas?
Sorry-not sure why it shows the question twice!

There are actually a lot of different factors to take into consideration here. I'll start with Fallbrook
Fallbrook- Under 1000$ It will be pretty easy to find decent rent here but youll find most the apts. available to be pretty torn up and trashy. If you are able to rent a home it would be better but only if your the isolationist types. Fallbrook sits in mountains and is very spreadout minus the downtown area. However the downtown area is not in good shape either. I always thought it was depressing to drive through there.
Temecula- Under 1000$/m It is a little northeast of fallbrook but its a really really nice little town. Great schools, modern shopping mall, clean and friendly atmosphere, and it has the lowest rent you will find this close to base i.e. I lived in a house on a golf course in Temec with two other people and including utilities I paid 600$/m. Now where your husband gets stationed on base could pose a problem for this though. If he is on the Orange County (North) part of base it will take him a least a hour to get to work and depending on when he gets off up to an hour and a half to get home. If he works on the San Diego County part of base (south) then this probably won't be much of a bother.
San Clemente- 1500-2000$/m By far your best bet for quality near CamPen. Right next to the beach, beach town atmosphere, incredible local dining and shopping, and it wont be as chalk full of Marines as Oside which is huge. I totally wish I moved to San Clemente instead of Temecula to get that real California experience. Bummer. BUT! It is really really expensive. If you can afford it you won't regret it though. Don't forget to take where your husband works on base in consideration. San Clemente sit right on top of the North side of Base one exit from the northern most gate.
Oceanside- 1200-1600$/m Everybody has a whole mess of trash to talk about oceanside but I actually think its an alright place. Its a lot more slummy feeling than San Clemente but it still has plenty to offer. Your a lot closer to San Diego which is nice if you like going there and it has a pretty decent beach with a huge pier. Plenty of places to get a haircut or stock up on gear. This biggest problem with Oside is the Marines. Eeeeveeerrrywhere you go you will see them. Usually in packs of 4 all wearing digital pattern backpacks with screamin high and tight hair cuts, aviator sunglasses, and talking on cell phones. They overcrowd the bars, restaurants, movie theater, and all else. Probably not what your husband is looking to be around when he gets off work.
Also, if your just a couple you might want to look at finding roommates. A lot of Marines do that and it allows them to live in nicer closer areas without gettin drained.
Any other questions lemme know :-) N.hesselgrave@gmail.com
