Answer
It's actually quite dangerous to sedate your child in ANY way without a very good medical reason and a doctor's recommendation. Only an idiot would recommend doing such a thing.

I recently flew with my two-year-old. For starters, get her a carry-on of her own. My daughter has a Dora rolling backpack that she used, and she felt very proud to be rolling it through the airport by herself. In it I packed snacks, a baby doll, paper/coloring book/crayons, a few small toys that didn't make noise and a couple of books. During take-off and landing, when the air pressure can be uncomfortable for your ears, I gave her suckers. Another idea would be a portable DVD player (with headphones so as not to disrupt the other passengers--you can buy special headphones at Wal-Mart that are designed especially for toddlers who are hard on things).

EDIT: Perhaps I wasn't being specific enough when I said you shouldn't sedate your child in ANY way (sounds pretty clear to me though). Children should NEVER be given ANY medication unless it's absolutely medically necessary. Does Benadryl have on the label as one of it's uses that you can give it to your child to make them easier to fly with? NO. Benadryl can actually cause children to become overly HYPER instead of drowsy, so you'd likely be doing yourself a disservice there. It's also DANGEROUS to medicate children, especially this young, when they don't really need it. Any GOOD pediatrician would NEVER recommend misuse of medication, especially not for the comfort of total strangers on an aircraft. It's not that difficult to entertain a small child on a flight if you go about it the right way, I've done it without issue numerous times. Anyone who wants to put their child to sleep so that they don't have to deal with them doesn't have any business being a parent; anyone who wants to put their child to sleep because they're worried about what the other passengers will think needs to get over it.

Any recommendation for Cambodia trip?

I'm goin to backpack to Cambodia this July, anyone knows where I can get a very good guide or forum online? Or mayb just give me a rough suggestion on my plan. I'm going to be there for a week and will be arriving in Siam Reap and going back from Phnom Penh. I plan to have 3 days on Angkor Wat tour but dunno wat to do for the rest of the week. Will I be able to fit Ratanakiri or Sikhanoukville in my plan? Thanks in advance.

i really help you when you are in Phnom Penh if you need me to help

something, like to find a cheap hotel in Phnom Penh, food, best place

to visit....
and if you have alot of money you will be a happy night guy if you

know the place like me,

if you want to know more about Siem Reap i tell you
if you are in PP and need to travel to Siem Reap by bus, the ticket is

7$ per person, there you can find a normal guest house may be 10$ per

night or so and suppose you gonna stay in SR for 3 days. Tickets for

Angkor cos $20 for a 1day pass and 40$ for a 2/3day pass. in addition

to entry you need to arrange transport. Bycicle cos t $2-3/day and can

be hired from many guesthouse. Motos, Tuks-Tuks, Taxis are other ways

but i think it is expensive.

anyway if you meet me i will give some Angkor Guidebook, that it is

good for you when you are in Siem Reap.
if you want more detail about half-day Tour, Oneday Tour, Two or Three

day tour in Siem Reap tell me, but better i will give you somebook when

you reach PP.

The best place to visit is Angkor wat temple in Siem Reap, and the beach in Shiahanouk Ville, very natural beach, alot of places to visit but it depend on the time you have, if you want to see the VERY natural mountain or forest it takes you so much time but i can recommend you somewhere like Pailin in Battambang Province(waterfall, Blue Mountain ....), Rattanakiri and Modulkir (waterfall, natural mountain, wildlife....) very very green country.

acutally there is no difficult rule for you to be aware of. The big thing is you have to aware of is accused of being sex with children.

The Hotel rate is cheap, you can find it every where when you reach Phnom Penh, guest house is more cheaper.

You have to take off your hate when you go Pagoda, or Royal Palace, you have to say Jom Reap Sour when you first meet someone.
and the say Lea Hay instead of saying Goodbye
everything here is not expensive at all.
pple here are very nice and their english not bad.

anything else please mail me ra_jerm@yahoo.com
welcome to my country
hope this would be helpful
