kelty camping backpack image

I'm thinking of going backpacking up into a mountain, but the only problem is, is that I don't have a backpack for it. So for all of you backpackers, what is by-far THE best backpack for a trip up into that mountains?
Answer
I use a Osprey Aether back most of the time. It is very comfortable, great suspension, handles loads very well and very adjustable. The come in 60, 70 and 85 liter sizes. I use the 60 with a Osprey Daylite attached for more room/pockets and to use as a day pack from base camp. The Aether series starts at about $200. For something less expensive, check out some of the Kelty packs. They're not bad, do the job, can get one for around $100 (depending on model). There suspension system is not as good as the Osprey.

What is a good, comfortable college backpack?
Alyssa
I need a new backpack for college. During this past week, I've been carrying more books than usual and my back has been killing me. I could care less what it looks like, I just need a comfortable, durable and semi-big backpack. Comfort is my main concern, I have always had back problems and go to the chiropractor, so I need this to keep my back from hurting. Thanks.

don't overlook Cabelas or Bass Pro because they have some great stuff that is priced right for a student and won't fall apart. yes i understand that they are hunting and fishing places but not everything is camo and they actually carry stuff for students.

just a few ideas. buying good quality always pays off in the long run and the ones in the links i provided will handle the weight plus they have waist belts that take the bulk off your shoulders so they are a lot more comfortable.
