Need a backpack!!( Help please!)?

Q. My cardiologist says i need to wear a backpack opposed to a shoulder bag. I need this for school ( going into 7th) so it needs to look good too. Links and pics are apreciated.

Laptop Backpack For College?

I will be starting college this fall, and am looking to purchase a new backpack. I own a North Face Recon pack, but it does not fit my 15.6" HP g6s laptop. I also do not like the sleeve style laptop section. I would prefer a dedicated zipper compartment for my laptop, because I do not want it to get scratched. (It is a purple color; scratches would be very visible.) I know I can't stop normal wear and tear, but I do not want it scratched too badly. I need enough room in the pack to hold books and binders, and it would be nice to have a pocket for other accessories.

I have looked at the North Face Surge pack and liked it, but I was hoping to find a suggestion for another brand of pack specifically for laptops. I have looked at Targus. They have nice packs, but none are very stylish. I am a girl, and I would prefer a backpack that didn't seem so masculine. Any suggestions?
Sparkle, thank you so much for your answer! I totally agree with you, but I'm afraid a sticker shield won't cut it for me. I'm handicapped, and if I fall while walking I need to know that my laptop is okay. Your shield idea is awesome, but it won't be much help when I slip and my things hit the pavement. It can and will happen. On that note, I will keep your advice in mind and watch out for thieves! Thank you!

I bought one a few years back but NEVER used it. I got a Timbuk2 bag custom made and it sits in my closet to this day. Honestly just get a sticker cover. I paid well over 1000 for my computer ( I have alot of engineering/ math software) and just stuck a sticker on it and carried it around. ( mines ZAGG and covers my cover and mouse pad area at the bottom of the computer and the mouse) If you have a nice computer and don't want to "hurt it" by a cheap small one for carrying around school ...

A plain bag will due .... you don't need to waste your money on fancy computer bags. You can always tell the new freshmen in college because they all have laptop bags and backpacks. The ones who have been in college carry books or have basic bags.... you'll see what I'm talking about

I have seen computers stolen out of bags, and i had my computer keyed ..... yeah wtf. Dont let it out of your reach EVER !! Someone tried to take my computer now when it was sitting next to me and i was talking to a tutor.
