So i was wondering where everyone got their camping gear and if they ever bought goods online? also was wondering if you ever buy used camping gear? Any response will help thank you in advance!
Answer
Mostly 2nd hand through yard sales. I do shop around compare products reviews and prices. For basics walmart or other sporting goods retailers but I never pay full price, seasonal deals are always the best time to buy new equipment.
Camping/backpacking gear is probably the most often resold or donated to the good will item there is. For one time campers they try it and find they don't like it and end up selling or giving it away. Watch the local penneysavor for garage sale ad's often they will list camping equipment in the ad and that is when I go have a look. I buy typically several hundred dollars worth of gear for pennys on the dollar and then I give it to my local Boy Scout troop.
Buyer beware is the norm though you need to know what your looking at and be able to verify all is in working order or you don't buy.
There are several online sources, and I never buy "online", that I shop to compare and read the reviews these are the ones I use the most,

I'm going camping on a canoe trip what should I bring?
Ariathell
We pack up all our gear on the canoes and make camp on the river as we go. I looking for things that could come in handy and snacks that will be tasty and give me energy for these long days of canoeing.
