I'm going to BLFAC in a few weeks and I'm not sure what kind of bag to bring.
Should I just pack a suitcase or would a large back pack work?

Answer
Definitely not a backpack. Suitcases work, but the past summer I used these organizers to put under your bed, and they work really well. I got mine from Target, and it's just a cloth, rectangular organizer with a clear zip top. It's the best option because you can see where everything is in the morning, and you don't have to go digging through your suitcase. As for where to put your toiletries, you don't need to pack them in your bag. Pack them in a separate, smaller bag. Each camper gets a box on this shelf in the cabin, and you can put your toiletries there. Hope I've helped! :)

Just wondering what you think of using this while camping?

I was doing some research on firearms, ( which I don't know much about). I came across the Mossberg 500 J.I.C Just In Case 12 ga shotgun. I would like some input regarding its use while camping or backpacking, or if you have personally used it. Any info at all would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Answer
Are you familiar with the phrase "as about as useless as teats on bull" because that kind of describes the utility value of your shotgun in a backpacking situation.
Furthermore that dream cannon of yours represents a huge danger to yourself , and to all of those who may hike around you.
Do us all a favor and keep your little guns the froggg out of our back-country
Have a nice day
Update:
Here's why you shouldn't be armed in the backcountry
One night you fire the.357 that the guy below me is suggesting that you carry
You miss your target
A half a mile later that round hits a hiker that's sleeping in his tent
You guys are 10 miles from the nearest road and in an area where call phones don't work [assuming that you're even carrying one and most hikers don't ]
The nearest hospital is 100 miles away and that hiker dies from his wounds
You just murdered an innocent man because you let your fear overcome your reason
Unless you man up it would be entirely possible for you to get away with the murder.
Again:Keep your little guns the froggg out of our back-country

  1. I see your basic questions have already been answered so i'll just add some things. In my opinion the only good thing about Blue Lake is the ice cream and the more advanced music program. I don't know anything about the dance camp so I can't help if you have questions there, but I have been in the dance studios, and they seem nice because they are one of the only indoor buildings in the whole camp. I remember last summer some of us would go stand in the camp store just to be indoors and get away from the sun for a bit. Otherwise though, I think Blue Lake Camp is overrated. I'm not saying it can't be fun, i'm just saying it's not like most of the reviews you'll find online say. I think the only people who post reviews are those who absolutely love it. My overall experience at Blue Lake was not good. There was this one girl in my cabin who kept telling everyone about these mean older girls who were bullying her and threatened to 'come find her' yet nobody else ever saw these two girls. It's possible she was telling the truth but I honestly think she was just trying to get attention. The rest of camp everyone followed her around and she was basically the queen bee of our cabin. It was ridiculous. Plus, the whole finding a date to the dance is dumb. It's a bunch of girls running around staring at boys they've never even talked to and making me go ask them if they like my friend.
    Now about the cabin life:
The mattresses are more like gym matts. They are extremely uncomfortable. Bring a nice sleeping bag! Do not bring a comforter. You need the support of the sleeping bag under your back. Also, take a shower between classes. Do not take a shower in the morning or the evening - you will have to wait forever and the water will be cold. Make sure you bring a strong, good-smelling shampoo and conditioner because the water is well water and if you don't you will smell like rotten eggs the rest of the day. Which reminds me - BRING WATER!!!!! Don't just bring a big case of water, make sure you have enough for a week and a half of camp with extras. When you're at camp you're moving around more and will drink more than you usually do. Bring at least enough for three bottled water bottles a day. Don't just bring a water bottle the well water is disgusting. I recommend bringing your bottled water to meals in Marek too. When you're ordering your uniform, order a lot of shirts. You never know if there will be a big power outage and there will be no laundry done that day (it happened to me). I recommend ordering a few sweaters too. You might drop one in mud. If anyone was worried about the showers, I can assure you they have good shower curtains, just bring your shower caddy in the shower with you so you don't have to keep sticking your arms out to the bench and knocking all your stuff on the floor. Which reminds me... the floor. The floors at blue lake are DIRTY! Sandy and muddy. Bring shower shoes! Also, don't bring the ankle length white socks they tell you too. You will get tons of sand in your shoes. Bring the shortest socks you can find. Those are easier to dump sand out of.
    The food:
Marek is gross. I don't mean eww camp food I mean gross. Tell them you're a vegetarian. I did, and most of the time I got better food than everyone else except that one day everyone got burgers and I was stuck with a giant portabella mushroom in a bun. My camp best friend also was a vegetarian and agreed that the food we got was better than the omnivores.
    The dance:
Was weird. Like I said everyone was making themselves crazy over boys. I went with my camp best friend as a joke. We bought each other roses and pretended we were on a date. Then we took an amazing selfie with our roses and the background with the trees behind us was fantastic. We spent the rest of the evening eating giant pickles and admiring our selfie. We had a much better time than my friend and her 'date' who she just met.
