Answer
Dear Lollipop Natalie,

What an interesting question and plan.

First of all I will tell you that you do not need to walk anywhere to find true freedom and spiritual Enlightenment. That you can find right where you are sitting or standing and reading this response. I can tell you this from experience. I will post a link below where you can read about finding and living Enlightenment.

Second, your journey by foot is quite an interesting adventure. Realistically I would say you will need some good traveling clothes, really good boots, good socks, a smart phone with a good gps and map program on it, good backpack, camping gear, a sufficient amount of money for necessities in your bank account, an ATM card to access that money. I would also suggest that you study a martial art like Akido or Kung Fu and get extremely good at it before heading out. You will need to know how to protect yourself physically just in case.

Be safe and write about the journey on a blog for everyone to see.

Take care.

Backpack Hiking Advice!?

Hey

I am a teen girl, and I love to Hike! I am not too extreme at all...I mostly backpack. I have hiked the grand canyon rim to rim, in Glacier national Park. (just for some backround!) I usually backpack 10-15 miles per day. I have an opportunity to plan a trip for me and my mom to take, and I would like it to be 3-5 days long. Any Suggestions anywhere in North America? (prefrerably south because i have not hiked there recently!) THANKYOU!

You can ask for more ideas under the "Camping" category, since there is no backpacking category on Yahoo! Answers.

Backpacking ten to twenty miles a day in the mountains is very good. You are more experienced than many hikers. I usually do the same each week in Colorado on my days off work.

One of my favorite areas that falls within your requirements is the Holy Cross Wilderness Area. Other interesting adventures include a hike through the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area. A challenging adventure of mine during the past summer was climbing Windom Peak, a Fourteener, which involves taking a narrow-guage train out of Durango for a few hours, getting off at a flag stop, hiking a few hours up to Chicago Basin, camping a few nights, and attempting to summit Windom, Eolus, and (if you are very extreme) Sunshine. Another great overnight involves hiking up Harvard and Columbia or sleeping over at the base of Missouri, Oxford, and Belford.
