Q. Jansport? That they sell at target. And what to put in like a "girl kit" like makeup.?

I always end up ripping my backpacks but Jansport seems like a decent brand. I'd say get a backpack rather than a tote like some girls often carry because you're gonna have a bunch of books, folders, and binders to lug around.
I'm assuming you wear make-up. But honestly, I wouldn't pack much because you probably won't have time to redo your make-up at school anyway. But I would include:
- Chapstick
- Lip gloss
- Powder
- Q-tips (for wiping off eyeliner smudges)
- Oil-blotting sheets (if you tend to get really oily like I do)
- Tampons/pads
- Bobby pins/scrunchies/hair ties (There's ALWAYS a girl that needs one.)
- Body spray
- Body lotion
- Hand sanitizer
- Deodorant (There will be a day when you accidentally forget to wear it in the morning.)
Honestly, I usually don't pack most of these items. You can still survive a day of school without most of these items. (Except the tampons/pads. You can get them at the nurse but you'd be better off having them.) But there are days when I've needed each of these things.

Pacsun and Vera Bradley are probably the two most popular brands at my school. People do wear jansport, but it's not that stylish. Personally, I got a backpack from pacsun and it works really, really well and I get complements on it all the time. I think it really depends on what school you're going to, though, and what stores are popular out there.
