How much does a gap year cost?

I have no idea roughly how muc it will cost me to take a gap year and travel around the world.
I plan to travel to Europe, Asia and America.
Excluding airfares, how much might I need?

Entirely depends how you'll be living, will it be hostels and backpacking?, will it be hotels and transport?, will you be working abroad with a student visa?. No one can tell you, the costs vary massively depending on exactly where you go and how you get around, for example Scandinavia is incredibly expensive compared to the rest of Europe. You need to work out a plan of exactly where you want to go and how long you'll be in each place, then research places to stay etc...Read online reviews and draw up a break-down according to your budget.

Where can I find creative/cool/different backpacks for an adult?

I'm looking for an alternative style backpack. Something that is maybe punk or goth-ish. I also really like cats and skulls too. I've checked Hot Topic, Spencer and Dickies without much luck, because I need adult-sized backpacks for actually traveling with.

Etsy won't work either, because I need something soon (since most of that stuff has to be costumed made there), and I don't want to spend $300.
