what are the must watch anime so I ask everyone what are the anime rites of passage

I am sorry i think was too vague when i said gore i did not mean stuff that is bloody or violent
i meant flesh ripping brain splattering vital organ spewing type gore (namely nothing along the premise of elfin lied)

Relax, there is no rites of passage of what anime to watch. Just try whatever anime you see and decide what you like from there. Everybody has their own opinion. Anyway, here are my recommendations (I hate gore too).

It's actually quite dangerous to sedate your child in ANY way without a very good medical reason and a doctor's recommendation. Only an idiot would recommend doing such a thing.

I recently flew with my two-year-old. For starters, get her a carry-on of her own. My daughter has a Dora rolling backpack that she used, and she felt very proud to be rolling it through the airport by herself. In it I packed snacks, a baby doll, paper/coloring book/crayons, a few small toys that didn't make noise and a couple of books. During take-off and landing, when the air pressure can be uncomfortable for your ears, I gave her suckers. Another idea would be a portable DVD player (with headphones so as not to disrupt the other passengers--you can buy special headphones at Wal-Mart that are designed especially for toddlers who are hard on things).

EDIT: Perhaps I wasn't being specific enough when I said you shouldn't sedate your child in ANY way (sounds pretty clear to me though). Children should NEVER be given ANY medication unless it's absolutely medically necessary. Does Benadryl have on the label as one of it's uses that you can give it to your child to make them easier to fly with? NO. Benadryl can actually cause children to become overly HYPER instead of drowsy, so you'd likely be doing yourself a disservice there. It's also DANGEROUS to medicate children, especially this young, when they don't really need it. Any GOOD pediatrician would NEVER recommend misuse of medication, especially not for the comfort of total strangers on an aircraft. It's not that difficult to entertain a small child on a flight if you go about it the right way, I've done it without issue numerous times. Anyone who wants to put their child to sleep so that they don't have to deal with them doesn't have any business being a parent; anyone who wants to put their child to sleep because they're worried about what the other passengers will think needs to get over it.
