I need to know if my camping stove can run on diesel, i figure they both burn so they're useable to light a flame.
Answer
it all depends
probably NOT
if it's a white gas stove - then no. White gas is a pure form of gasoline (no additives).
If you have an international stove, or one that burns kerosene - then maybe. Kerosene and diesel are similar - so that might work.
In the US, very few camping stoves will burn Diesel - in Europe - it's different.
The MSR Dragonfly backpacking stove can be configured to run from Diesel (as well as gasoline, kerosene, and white gas)
make sure you always follow the manufacturers safety directions. All these fuels are flammable and dangerous.
I hope that helps
enjoy the outdoors,
Brian.

I want to buy my boyfriend a camp stove, should I go propane or liquid fuel?
Annie
It's going to be for car camping, he's already got a backpacking stove. We live in Colorado, it can get pretty cold. What's the difference between propane stoves and liquid fuel? I'm looking at the Coleman website and can't make up my mind. Any recommendations would be great too.
Thanks.
Answer
liquid
you can keep more fuel on hand
