With the pockets or without?

Thanks.

External frames are noted to be easier to pack your equipment in because they usually have more pockets and it is easier to tie things on the outside. An internal frame pack is known to be far more comfortable than an external frame. Where the external frame usually only touches your back in a few places, the internal frame is made to fit straight on your back, more evenly distributing the weight.

"Gregory Palisade 80 Internal Frame Pack" comes in 3 sizes to get the best fit. One of Gregory's most popular packs for extended trips, the Palisade includes a front pocket for organization and a sleeping bag compartment with a divider that can be opened for more space. When you're making a quick side trip from camp, the lid converts into a fanny pack, so you can carry the day's necessities. Because week-long trips are usually accompanied by heavy loads, the Palisade uses Gregory's AUTO-CANT harness system to assure a perfect fit and ideal distribution of weight."

okay, im new to camping, and im shopping for gear, what are the basic necessities for a few days to a week out in the woods for two people? give me a list of stuff to bring to make our outing enjoyable, we will be camping in a mostly flat area with a lot of tall pine trees. we have never camped out in the woods before, so were novices when it comes to this, so give us a list of stuff that a novice would need.
