I need a good backpacking tent that fits at least two people, but I don't have a lot of money to spend (under $100).

Here's a three star review for the Columbia Lost Lake:

For a few bucks over $100 I'd go with a nice ultralight tarp, if you're willing to learn to set it up properly: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/stealth_ultralight_backpacking_tarp_0_pro.html
You could even make your own tarp tent with mosquito netting for closer to $100.00 here: http://www.ray-way.com/tarp-nettent/index.shtml

Have not seen that one in person, the buyer reviews are on the positive side. The price puts it on the low end so quality in the long term could be suspect. Here is an article on how to choose a great back pack.

Hey fellow hikers. Im looking for some recommendations. Im looking for a 2 personne tente similar to Eureka Apex but something more 3-4 season. I will be going on an undetermined time travelling cross country canada. Hitchhiking will be our ride and the outdoors our home. So need something good for long term cause it will be packed and unpacked every day for more than 1 year. Obviously i will be heading central america for winter but might be in canada until mid november. So this is why 4 seaon features would be necessary. November usually isnt too ruff on snow weigh excess on the tents frame but still i think we should consider something who could suppport snow weigh aswell. It will be exposed to all other weathers also. Weigh is not much of a problem i got a 70l tatonka backpack so it can take some and stay confortable. still over 9 lbs is probably top limit. Perhaps 1 place tents could be a possibillity. I am alone with my dog still a 85 lbs pitbull but hes used to sleep in the same sleeping bag as me so he doesnt take that much more place but still i would prefer keeping our gear inside the tent because i also carry a mandolin. I travelled most of this summer using a cheap outbond 2 place tent frome canadian tire and it was fine just door zipper is starting to rip and even tough i sprayed it with silicone based water repelant water still infiltrates in heavy rains. Also Eureka Range 2 place is one i might consider buying. It has a super deal of cyber monday its about half price. But tough id ask here before buying anything. Ive read some really good reviews professional quality reviews here you guys are amazing ! Thanks for the help
