camping backpack stores image

I am traveling to study abroad in Germany in a couple months and I am looking for a pack to go with me.
I've been to Cabella's and Bass Pro but i'm not looking for a camping backpack and when I went to Cabella's the guy had no idea what he was talking about (He admitted it himself).
Any help? We don't have an REI but surely there is a place that could help me out?
Answer
As someone who's done a lot of backpacking and camping in my time - I'm afraid I'm not sure what you mean either. As I know it, there are 3 basic kinds of backpacks - frameless, internal frame, and external frame. You may be thinking of external frame as the "camper's backpack" I'm guessing, in which case you are looking for an internal frame perhaps? Frameless is like your basic rucksack, or the type of backpack a kid takes to school, and as there is no shortage of those, I'm guessing it isn't what you want.
You might try Cabella's and Bass Pro again, instead asking for a light (or even ultralight) internal frame pack. Try the Bass Pro in Independence, it should carry more than the Olathe store. Also, any sporting goods store, such as Dick's Sporting Goods at Town Center in Overland Park (or is it Leawood?) or Sports Authority (Lenexa, Tiffany Springs). You can also try an army surplus shop like Mickey's Surplus if that's more your style.

Going backpacking for over a month how to carry my camera and lenses?
McKenzie b
I'm going backpacking through Scotland for a few months. I need to carry my Camera and lenses. I need it for at least 2 larger cameras and filters and lenses. I would love to just have it attached to my backpack or be part of the pack. Any suggestions?
